What is it?
Lobsters are a bit like big prawns, you can eat them just as they are with some salad or take out the meat and have it with some pasta. If you are a brave cook you could try and make lobster thermidor. We can get them cooked or live. You can get Canadian lobsters which are red all over or English lobsters which have a white speckled pattern on the bottom, these taste better because the grow slower.
Preparation Options
If the lobster is cooked it will be bright red, you can have it split down the middle, there is a little bit behind the mouth you can't eat, the rest is all edible. You can also have the claws cracked. There will be a large amount of meat in the claws and body, a small amount is in the legs.
Is it sustainable?
Our lobsters come from Looe or the Isle of Wight and are caught in pots. The MCS are assessing the sustainability of Lobsters, however potting is one of the most sustainable fishing methods.
