What is it?
Cuttlefish is a member of the cephalopod family. Its very similar to squid but the tentacles are shorter and the body is separated by a large back bone. You can flash fry, add it to a paella , or slow cook it .
Preparation Options
You will need to have the beak, head, innards and backbone removed. The tentacles are edible along with the side fins, although these might be a bit tougher than the body.
Is it sustainable?
Our squid come from Looe and are line caught with jigs, the MCS are currently assessing the sustainability of cuttlefish.
